10 Milliemes 1978 (1398 AH), a circulation coin of the Democratic Republic of Sudan.
The obverse features the national emblem of Sudan and the dates 1978 and 1398 AH. The reverse features the denomination 10 Milliemes surrounded by cotton branches.
The coin is struck in brass.
Catalog mintage: 9,410,000 pieces. The Schön catalog, however, lists a mintage of 9,630,000 pieces.
The coin is part of the “Coins of All Nations” collector’s series issued by The Franklin Mint and comes in its original envelope with a postage stamp and a postmark.
The envelope is complemented by a 1951 Sudanese postage stamp with a face value of 4 piastres, depicting a weaver at a loom. The stamp belongs to the 1951 Sudanese circulation series; it is listed as SG 133 in the Stanley Gibbons catalog and as 108 in the Scott catalog.
The envelope was postmarked by the Philatelic Section in Khartoum on December 13, 1979.
The issue is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from The Franklin Mint.
