The caricature of a pair of drunkards in a conversation differs by the mirror-image swapping of the figures and the contents of the bottle - almost full, almost empty (Old Friends I. , II. - Also under the titles First Sip and Last Sip). The literature mentions versions from 1885, 1885, 1889, 1890 (all including a number of illustrations are given by LAMAC 1957). Various variants were exhibited in RUCH 1887, J.U.V. 1937, Manes 1954.
