One of the rarest banknotes we have ever handled. Four pieces have been graded by PMG, 3 more are believed to be ungraded for a total of 7 surviving pieces all within the 485-510 range. This is one of the scarce examples of the American Founding Father George Washington on a banknote from outside the United States. This piece was the pre-cursor to the emmision that would follow in 1888 of ''El Banco de la Republica''. Funny enough this bank was a private bank and had no direct relationship with ''El Banco de la Republica'' which was chartered on July 20th 1923.
This piece is tied with only 1 other for the finest grade of PMG 63, none known in EPQ, so quite literally the finest example known by any measure. The lowest graded piece on PMG's registry, a lone 50, sold in August 2024 for $1440 USD. This piece outshines that one by 10 fold in quality and beauty. A piece only for collectors of rare and practiaclly unique pieces.
