"Jazz " - a monthly magazine devoted to music, the first jazz magazine published in countries of people's democracy. The monthly was founded in 1956 under the editorship of Jozef Balcerak, who was its editor-in-chief until mid 1977. "
"In the mid-1960s, a permanent column of several pages, "Rhythm and Song," devoted to pop and rock music, was introduced to "Jazz." In the 1970s, rock topics became an integral part of the magazine. Among those who wrote about it were Wieslaw Weiss, Wieslaw Królikowski, Jerzy A. Rzewuski, Marek Wiernik, Janusz Mechanisz, Aleksander J. Rowiński, Kamil Sipowicz, Janusz Popławski, and the magazine was one of the few sources of knowledge about rock music published in Poland at the time. "
The cover was designed by Włodzimierz Lajming.
