Antoni Boratyński— graphic artist, illustrator. From 1950 to 1951, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and from 1951 to 1956 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest. As an illustrator, he collaborated with many Polish publishers, including Nasza Księgarnia, Iskry, Ludowa Spółdzielnia Wydawnicza, and Glob. He is the recipient of numerous awards, primarily in the field of book illustration, including in the PTWK “Most Beautiful Books of the Year” competitions (1977 and 1987), the Prime Minister’s Award for works for children and young adults (1976), and the Austrian Illustrator of the Year Award (1996). In 1978, he was inducted into the international H.C. Andersen Honor List.
