The wines of E. Pira & Figli owe their character and today's popularity to Chiara Boschis, one of the most important winemakers in Piedmont. Chiara brought new energy to the estate when she took over its management in the 1990s. She mixes classic and modern in her work, and by adding her talent, she gets beautiful wines that are among the top of Barolo.
The wines are based on clean, beautifully drawn fruit, elegant structure and lifted acidity. Life and energy are the main qualities one feels when tasting these wines. Chiara Boschis uses organic techniques in cultivation and vinifies micro lots, parcel by parcel. This allows her to tune her wines very precisely. Thanks to aging in different barrels, many of the wines are ready to drink relatively early.
