Distillery description
Aberlour is a Scottish distillery founded in 1826 by James Wilson in the Speyside region near Aberlour, known for using local water and traditional production methods. After a fire in 1898, the distillery was rebuilt, which modernized both its production and appearance. Over the years, Aberlour changed ownership multiple times and, in 2001, became part of Pernod Ricard's portfolio. Although it focused on blends for many years, in the 1990s, Aberlour began producing single malts, with its 12-year-old bottling becoming one of its most renowned products. Bottle description
Aberlour 1990 is a limited edition single malt whisky distilled in 1990 and bottled by independent bottler Blackadder in 2005. This whisky belongs to the prestigious Raw Cask series, in which the whisky does not undergo any chill filtration or coloring, preserving its natural and authentic character.Nose: Rich with dried fruit, chocolate, and spices, with a subtle woody undertone.
Taste: Harmonious, with full notes of sherry, fruit, and subtle spices.
Finish: Long and warm, with lingering notes of oak and sherry.
The whisky was matured in 208 hogshead sherry casks (#3325), and this particular bottle is #135.
