Henry Jacques Delpy was a landscape painter of the Barbizon school like his father, of whom he was a pupil. He specialized in water landscapes, especially variations on riverbanks. His works are marked by the influence of his father and the important painter Charles - Francois Daubigny (1817 - 1878). He painted undergrowth imbued with melancholy, ponds, the banks of the Oise and the Seine.
