Probably Germany, c. 1810 - 1830, mahogany veneered on oak, partially precious or burl wood veneer, straight body with three drawers at the bottom, the writing surface above, a further drawer above, stepped pediment, fire-gilt fittings, partly figurative and partly floral, behind the writing flap 8 small drawers and a door flanked by half columns, 160 x 105 x 51 cm, last restoration in 2009, the locks of the lower drawers renewed, 3 leg knobs replaced, minimal veneer damage in places, flap with restored shrinkage crack
