A 2-mark stamp from the 1940 Łódź Ghetto—the so-called “ENTWERTET”
A coupon with a low serial number: 000320 and a navy blue ink stamp on the reverse reading “ENTWERTET” ; unusually for this type of numbering, the number itself is in orange.
An attractive piece, confirmed by a high PMG grading score, with an EPQ notation attesting to the exceptional quality of the paper.
Sets of Łódź Ghetto voucher denominations, which had low serial numbers and were marked on the reverse with an “ENTWERTET” (withdrawn) stamp, were fastened together with a paper clip and then placed into special paper envelopes; all denominations in such a set bore the same serial number. It is likely that in this form they constituted a commemorative set, intended for German officials (?)
