DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
"Sieraków" belongs to Edward Dwurnik's "Hitchhiking Journeys" series of works, continued throughout almost the entire period of his career, in which the artist portrayed, not necessarily in a realistic way, cities seen from a bird's-eye perspective. The situation is similar here as well - the artist showed an imaginary veduta of Sieraków, which in time became one of the lakeside resorts of Wielkopolska. Edward Dwurnik summed up in the painting recognizable features of the place, such as the avenues in the center of the town, and supplemented them with his trademark humor, describing one of the buildings as a hotel and escort agency, thus emphasizing Sierakow's "resort" character.
