A graduate of the Department of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (diploma under Prof. Mieczysław Wejman, 1976). He gained experience as a set designer’s assistant in Kazimierz Kutz’s theater company and as a designer at the American Hanna-Barbera animation studio in Sydney. Many years spent in exile in Sweden, Australia, and Germany, as well as his work as an artistic director, shaped his unique visual language.
Since 2004, he has devoted himself exclusively to painting, which he defines as “surreal-fantastic realism.” Drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of the old masters, such as Bosch and Bruegel, he creates worlds imbued with a critical analysis of the present. He has presented his works at numerous exhibitions in Europe and the U.S. He is a member of prestigious associations, including the Society of Art of Imagination in London and the Bundesverband Bildender Künstler in Cologne.
