Jagoda Szymanska-Kozlowska
Born in 1983, she graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. In 2009, she defended her diploma with distinction in the studio of Prof. zw. Piotr C. Kowalski. She won the First Prize of the Governor of Wielkopolska in the National Competition "IX Salon Wielkopolski" in Czarnków and the Special Prize in the competition "Untouchable" organized by the portal Gallerystore.pl as part of the Mediations Biennale 2012. She lives and works in Poznań.
She is the author of the painting series "Glasses", "Lakes" and "Clouds", whose common feature is the use of ornament. The pattern, which on the one hand deforms the view, provides an additional plane in the painting, giving the depicted motifs an abstract dimension.
