LITERATURE:
- Marek Sobczyk. Twice too many paintings (Brain research in Poland) [exhibition cat.], aTak Gallery, Warsaw 2011, il. p. 71, pos. 25.
Marek Sobczyk's paintings are a conglomerate of mediated images - images provided to the artist by art history, pop culture, mass media, everyday life. The process of peculiar collage takes place in the "brain" of the artist. The paintings do not show "seams" that connect, sometimes extremely different, realities. This excess of images in the living space is irreducible, as a result of which the artist himself creates "too many images."
Waldemar Baraniewski annotated the presented work with the comment: "In the painting there is no poet, there is a rally knight - Robert Kubica, and sexy hostesses, from a better world. To which a Pole set out looking for what he did not have in Poland. Like Miron Bialoszewski in New York, satisfied with the opportunity to buy cheese and a pornographic magazine" ([in:] Marek Sobczyk. Twice Too Many Images (Brain Research in Poland) [exhibition cat.], aTak Gallery, Warsaw 2011, p. 10).
