The offered work belongs to one of the artist's most recognizable series. It consisted of both inspirations of national identity and history (Warsaw Uprising, war themes), as well as the works of Opałka, Rothko or Gutai Group. Blood as their leitmotif and the technique of execution, reproduced in successive works, give them an additional common denominator. The composition of "Bloody Black" creates a dense structure of black, fairly regular spots, sometimes merging into more elaborate forms. White and black are the only colors present on the canvas. The austerity of the artistic means used interacts intriguingly with the expressive, dynamic visual side of the work.
