(…) Serge Vasilendiuc works with symbols and metaphors, and his paintings encapsulate the kind of reflection found in icons. The color palette, refined in its restraint, harmonizes with the discipline of the composition. The philosophical and meditative nature of this painting is also highlighted by critics worldwide… [Jolanta Antecka]
(…) Order and emotion. At the ZPAP “Pryzmat” gallery, I paused, captivated by the powerful aura emanating from dozens of canvases. I stepped into this extraordinary reality. I’m sure I’d seen a painting by Serge Vasilendiuc before; I’d noticed his high artistic refinement—but now these landscapes, warm even in the moonlight—well, they really swept me off my feet… Serge Vasilendiuc brings suitcases full of the Southern painting tradition into his work, stacking them from the basement to the rafters, and without fear of being accused of fraternizing with the post-Cubists, he paints tranquil landscapes with a hint of graphic conventionality, full, on the whole, of harmony. But beneath this pleasant, gentle melody, a rhythm pulses. And it is this rhythm that shatters the frame—without actually shattering it. That, precisely, is art. [Marek Sołtysik]
