Stanislav TROJANSKI

Born into a Polish-Russian family of architects and painters. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leningrad under Professor Ivan Biblin. During World War II he was forced to join the Red Army, where he was accused of conspiracy and sent to the gulag. He regained his freedom in 1956. He returned to study at the Academy of Art in Moscow under Professor Mikhail Kurilko. From 1959 he worked as a book illustrator and as a screenwriter and theater director. In 1975 he managed to emigrate from the USSR and settled in Poland. His painting "Burning Warsaw" went to the Vatican Museum. In 1984 he moved to Berlin.
