Biography
Graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. During his studies he participated in a student exchange at L'École Estienne in Paris. In 2013 he traveled in Aruba, where he worked as a painter in a local church, and a year later became one of the animators working on the film "Your Vincent." The themes of Jackowski's paintings span between two issues. The first is a widely understood sense of scarcity of content - empty carriers of information expressing nothingness, reality washed of meaning, but loudly manifesting this lack. The second theme focusing his creative attention is a painterly interpretation of a quote from Stanislaw Lem's "Solaris": "We don't need other worlds. We need mirrors." With it, he explores his understanding of the phenomenon of mirror reflection as an extension of the visible universe. The artist has presented his works in solo exhibitions, including "Return to Cythera" at Fresz Gallery in Krakow (2024), "Homeland" at Milano Gallery in Warsaw (2023), "We have no need for other worlds. We need mirrors." at Winda Gallery in Kielce (2019), "Attention: nothing" at Milano Gallery in Warsaw (2018), "Everything in my impotence" at Żak Gallery in Gdańsk (2016) and "Images from the labyrinth" at a branch of the National Museum in Kielce, Henryk Sienkiewicz Museum in Oblęgorek (2013). He has also participated in significant group exhibitions, such as "Landscape of Polish Painting" at the Zachęta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw (2023), "I Biennale of Painting Lublin Spring" at the Meeting of Cultures Center in Lublin (2021) and "Bright Gray" in duo with Olga Pawlowska at TLEN Art Gallery Wilanów (2021). He has also presented works in international exhibitions, including "Beyond the shadow" at Sandhofer Gallery in Salzburg, Austria (2019).
