Katarzyna Bułka Matłacz
Polish sculptor born in Warsaw. Graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. She studied under professors: G. Zemla, J. Kucz, P. Gawron, St. Kulon, J.Pastwa, T. Łodziany. In 1991 she received a Master of Arts degree from the Department of Sculpture, and in 1992 she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and Art. She is a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers and the French Association Art'PAIR International. She creates in bronze and glass. She has developed an original technique of melting glass in a high-temperature furnace. She received an honorable mention at the Art Competition in Paris for one of her sculptures made using this technique. She is the author of prestigious awards including: HALL of FAME- an award presented by the European Bridge League in Lausanne, GAZELE OF BUSINESS- an award of the daily newspaper Puls Biznesu, JUST A BOHATER- an award presented by the TV station TVN, MALE THING- for TVN Turbo, CHEMICAL MARCH- an award judged by the Nobel Prize winner in physics Richard Schrock, an award of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Her works are in the collections of well-known cultural and political figures: Sculpture "RIDERS OF THE STORM" purchased by Greek Prime Minister Costas Simitis during an official visit to Poland. Sculpture "REQUIEM", presented to Szymon Szurmiej, during the benefit of the 50th anniversary of his artistic work by the Minister of Culture and Art at the STU Theater in Krakow. She cooperates with art galleries in Poland, Germany, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Denmark, the USA, Belgium.
Particularly close to the artist are: Second Prize and Audience Award at the Greater Poland Salon, for the sculpture , "Carmen"- 2012. GRAND PRIX (gold medal) at the Salon d'Automne Coubron - Paris, for the sculpture "Dream of Venice" (November - 2013) Participation in the Final Exhibition of the Summer Exhibition 2016 at the Castle Gallery in Birmingham, organized by INSIGHT Building Creative Talent. Honorable Mention in the 3rd Edition of the "NanoArt" Art Competition, for the sculpture "Nanoparticle" (Galerie Roi Dore - Paris August - 2017) Participation in the Salon Art Capital , at the Grand Palais Paris- February - 2025.
