Jerzy Piotrowicz (1943-1999) studied at the Painting Department of the Poznan State Higher School of Fine Arts under Marian Szmańda; he received his diploma in the graphics studio of Tadeusz Jackowski (1972). He practiced painting, drawing, as well as printmaking (metal techniques). Exceptional technical proficiency allowed him to achieve virtuoso solutions in all these fields. The pursuit of optimal effects or even maestry is confirmed especially by works made using different techniques and devoted to the same motifs. He simultaneously practiced painting and drawing, as well as printmaking (metal techniques). He was born in 1943 in the village of Przedświt near Ostrowia Mazowiecka. He died in 1999 in Poznan.
