Agathon Klemt (July 27, 1830 Prague - July 5, 1889 Prague), Portrait of an Elegant Man. As a doctor of law and an art historian, Agathon Klemt was an important Czech figure. He became a painter without any art education. He was entirely self-taught in the field of painting; a remarkable fact given the quality of his works. Klemt was a very talented portraitist who painted a number of Czech and Austrian personalities, including František Palacký. Today, this portrait is housed in the National Museum, in Prague. In addition to portraits, Klemt devoted himself to genre painting, illustrations and altar paintings. Oil on canvas, 31 x 25,5 cm
