Biography
Painter and printmaker working mainly in Warsaw. Initially he studied drawing at the Drawing Class of W. Gerson; for further studies he went to Munich, where he studied in the studio of S. Grocholski - from 1896 he also studied in Rome. After returning to Poland, he continued his painting education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under T. Axentowicz (until 1901) From about 1910 he was a member of the Odłam artistic grouping, later becoming president of the Warsaw Art Society. He exhibited in Warsaw, Lublin, Vilnius, as well as in Moscow and Leipzig. He painted mainly watercolor and oil landscapes and views of Mazovia. He was also involved in autolithography. The artist's paintings were mostly destroyed during World War II.
