Julita Anna Sleńdzińska (1927-1992), the artist's daughter, was an accomplished pianist and harpsichordist, and - next to his wife Irena - his favorite model. He portrayed her many times - as a baby in a stroller, an adolescent girl and later a young woman. Julita studied at the Vilnius Conservatory from 1938, including from 1941-1944 in the class of Professor Stanislaw Szpinalski. Her first public concert, recognized as her graduation exam, took place at the Vilnius Philharmonic Hall on June 30, 1944, still under German occupation. Its program included, among other things, works by Chopin, and the concert itself for the Vilnius community was an event of solemn, patriotic significance. Julita's portrait is a memento of this concert. Maintained in art deco style, it is painted with palpable tenderness and paternal pride. The artist emphasized the soft facial features of the young, seventeen-year-old pianist, her graceful figure, elegant dress and long, loose hair, impasto-modeled in paint. Years later, he also included this portrait of Julita in his Memoir, a series of double paintings describing the most important events of her life, painted between 1965 and 1967.
