Mikhail GORSTKIN WYWIÓRSKI
1861 Warsaw - 1926 Berlin
From 1883 to 1887 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under K. Raupp and W. Gysis and in the studios of J. Brandt, A. Wierusz-Kowalski. He lived initially in Munich, then in Berlin. Since 1904 he was active in Poznan, where he was a member of TPSP and the Artists' Association. In addition to Poznan, he exhibited in Krakow, Warsaw and Lviv, as well as in Berlin, St. Petersburg, Munich and Kyiv. A great distinction for him was his cooperation with J. Fałat, W. Kossak, A. Piotrowski and J. Stanislawski in the realization of "Berezina" (he painted snow in it); with J. Styka - in the painting of the panorama "Bem in Transylvania"; with W. Kossak, J. Ryszkiewicz and K. Rozwadowski - when composing "Napoleon at the Pyramids". He participated in many national and international exhibitions. The dominant theme in the artist's work was a realistic landscape, as well as hunting scenes.
