Wiktor Korecki (Kamieniec Podolski 1890 – 1980, Komorów near Warsaw), landscape painter. He graduated from middle school in Kyiv, where he also studied at the Alexander Muraszka Drawing School. After completing his studies, he returned to Kamieniec Podolski, from where he left for Warsaw in 1921. There, he had a studio on the corner of Tamki and Cicha Streets. The paintings stored there were destroyed in a fire during the 1944 uprising. After the uprising, the artist was held in a camp in Pruszków, from where he was sent to a labor camp in Leipzig. He returned to Poland in 1946 and settled in Komorów near Warsaw, and later in Milanówek. His atmospheric landscapes, exuding calm and serenity, have always been very popular. Korecki most often painted winter landscapes featuring a forest road and a stream winding through the snow, as well as spring, summer, and fall views of Mazovia.
