A stately rectangular tray from the German manufacturer WMF, dating from the 1920s. The rim is richly decorated with floral motifs, seashells, and Rococo ornaments. It features two striking handles. The bottom bears the mark “WMF NS.”
An elegant, large tray from the renowned German manufacturer Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF), dated to approximately 1920–1930.
Made of nickel silver, it has a rectangular shape with rounded corners. The wide rim is richly decorated with relief floral ornaments, shell motifs, volutes, and acanthus leaves. On both sides are striking, openwork handles with symmetrical decoration.
The original WMF NS manufacturer’s mark, characteristic of alpaca (Neusilber) products, is preserved on the bottom.
Length including handles: approx. 52–53 cm.
Condition: numerous scratches on the working surface, visible scuffs, localized discoloration, and a natural patina. The rim and handles retain their distinctive, rich ornamentation. Condition as shown in the photographs.
A fine example of pre-war German craftsmanship
