A set design or architectural study executed on burnished laid paper, depicting the interior of a monumental hall characterized by a central perspective featuring a series of Corinthian columns decorated with spiral garlands and heavy drapery. The composition shows details of ceremonial furnishings, including braziers and circular tables, rendered with quick, energetic strokes of ink and graphite that suggest a preparatory phase for a theatrical set or interior decoration. In the upper right corner is a handwritten inscription in cursive ink; the letters “J” or “b” and “er” can be made out, followed by other letters that are not clearly legible enough to form a complete name. The sheet shows clear signs of folding both horizontally and vertically, with the folds intersecting at the center of the composition. The work is mounted in a gilded wooden frame with a deep red mat.
Based on the folding ruler visible in the images, the visible area of the drawing measures approximately 23.5 cm in width and 15 cm in height.
