Old registration documents available2 keys, no spare keyNo user manual or maintenance recordsNot registered with ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano, an organization for historic vehicles)No technical passport. The car was prepared for real rallies, not regularity races, but ultimately it never participated in actual rallies, despite being efficiently prepared. Therefore, it still requires further modifications. Since it never competed, there was no need for a technical passport, which can be obtained now with the presence of the original documents.
Engine: 1995 cc
CAR HISTORY
This car is a faithful replica of the livery used by the "Grifone" racing team in the '70s, '80s, and '90s, associated with Fiat Group vehicles.
The vehicle was prepared by a workshop in Turin in the early 2000s. The chassis was reinforced using the kit of 38 reinforcements provided by Lancia for competition purposes. The suspension settings were revised, a shorter final drive ratio was installed, and modifications were made to the gear lever mount, brake bias adjuster, and hydraulic handbrake. The engine was rebuilt with appropriate camshafts and adjustable timing. Additionally, it has been equipped with safety features suitable for sports driving.
The car was used for some regularity races and events.
CONDITIONS OF THE VEHICLE
The bodywork has been painted with the colors of Grifone and remains untouched, looking beautiful. It has a unique feature: when it used to race as an Abarth, it had a kit consisting of 38 specifically shaped iron reinforcement patches that needed to be welded onto the car. It was homologated even for Group N (at that time, it cost 4.5 million). Our car still has the kit installed and welded, never used.
The windows and windshield are standard and in good condition.
The interior is equipped with reinforcing panels and the original paneling. It has two anatomical, wraparound seats that were originally designed for competition, along with four-point seat belts. They may require homologation.
The tires are currently at 80% tread, but they are old. The recommended sizes are 165/65/14 or 185/60/14. If it raced in the standard touring class, it would have used the tire sizes specified in the manual. However, if it raced in Group A, it could have changed to 15 or 16-inch wheels.
The engine has been modified with replaced camshafts that have adjustable timing. This means the engine's timing can be externally adjusted when more power delivery is needed, rather than replacing the camshaft. Nowadays, Honda includes this feature as standard in their engines, such as the VTEC in the Civic. The water pump and radiator fluid have recently been replaced.
The service belt has been changed, and the timing belt needs to be replaced for safety.
The fuel injection pump is the standard one, and it runs on 100-octane gasoline with an additive.
There is a turbocharger installed.
The final drive ratio has been shortened, making the gears shorter and more suitable for rallies. Additionally, a bracket has been added internally to support the gear lever.
The exhaust system is mostly original, except for the tailpipe.
The driveshaft is standard.
Both the front and rear differentials are standard.
The clutch is a standard disc type.
The joints and half-shafts are in good condition, without any rust.
The flywheel has been lightened.
The wheel bearings are in good order.
The braking system includes a hydraulic handbrake instead of a mechanical one. This allows for easier handling during high-speed turns. Inside the braking system, there is a brake bias adjuster controlled by the driver next to the handbrake, which can be adjusted during the race. The front brake calipers have been recently serviced and are larger than the standard ones.
The brake pads and discs have recently been serviced.
The steering box is hydraulic.
The suspension and shock absorbers are not standard, as they are stiffer, including lowered racing springs.
The electrical system is standard.
The onboard instruments are standard.
The turn signals are functioning and are standard.
The headlights are functioning and are standard.
The alternator is functioning and is standard.
The starter motor is functioning and is standard.
The ECU (Engine Control Unit) is the standard one.
The heating system is present.
The windshield wipers are in perfect condition.
The window winders are manual.
The battery is a regular one, relocated from its original position to the rear seat area to reduce weight. It is a new 60-ampere battery.
There is a safety fuel tank in the trunk.
Car still to be tested in races because it was prepared but never really used. Beautiful work done on the crankshaft if we think it was a technology used in the 1990s and now applied on many production cars such as Honda Civics. Transportation at buyer's expense, volture at buyer's expense.
