144 pages, color photographs of banknotes, approximately A5 size, softcover, detailed catalog with valuations for three conditions. The first complete catalog of banknotes of the Russian Empire issued between 1769 and 1917. The catalog includes virtually all known banknotes, with prices (in rubles) listed for three condition grades: GF VF—for very rare and poorly preserved banknotes—and in the grades VF, XF, and UNC — for more common banknotes that have survived to this day in large quantities; watermarks of all featured banknotes are presented in the form of drawings and photographs; signatures of cashiers and managers are provided (signature drawings); the range of banknote series is listed (for very rare ones, only those known are listed; for common ones, all are listed). The catalog includes securities (since they were in circulation as currency at that time) and stamps (from 1915–1917) that served as currency at the time. This publication is intended for both novice and experienced collectors of Tsarist Russian banknotes.
