Spines faded (browned), otherwise very good condition. On both spines gilt floral motifs, crowned eagle and painter's palette. Gilded palette and painting brushes on front covers, same blind-stamped motif on back covers. Vol. 1: Medieval Painting in Poland, vol. 2: Painting in Poland from the 16th to the 18th century, vol. 3: Painting in Poland of the 19th and 20th centuries. A monumental work by an outstanding art historian, still one of the best studies of the subject in our literature. Very rich illustrative material - a total of 1,259 reproductions in the text and on plates.
