Adam Amilkar Kosiński, of the Koziński coat of arms— novelist, heraldist, participant in the November Uprising, author of historical novels and soldier’s stories; he published, among other places, in *Pielgrzym* or “Biblioteka Warszawska”; he published novels in Warsaw, Leipzig, and Vilnius; later in life, he developed an interest in heraldry and authored “Przewodnik heraldyczny” (“Heraldic Guide”), published between 1877 and 1885.
A collection of sketches and writings on local history and memoirs.
It includes, among other things: an extensive description of Warsaw, its monuments, residents, social clubs, and social life; “A Train Journey from Warsaw to Częstochowa”; information about the Częstochowa region (Olsztyn, Kłobuck, Kruszyna, Danków, Lipie, and others); “The Devil as Imagined by Our People”; “A Train Journey from Częstochowa to the Border: Poraj, Myszków, Żarki, Mierów, and Bobolice”; “Siewierz, Koziegłowy, Mrzygłód, Rokitno, Łazy, Ząbkowice. Life in the Countryside.”

Teodor Karwicki (1804–1881), military officer , councilor, district justice of the peace, born in Karwice. Ignacy Wierobiej (1887–1970), Catholic priest, long-time pastor of the parish in Hajnówka, amateur historian.
