Why describe such "unbelievable" things? - will probably ask many a "sober" voice, after flipping a few pages of this book.
And yet...
We still remember those days when the existence of hypnotism was officially denied. Since then we have only made a step forward in researching the possibilities of the human spirit, but one thing we know for sure is that these possibilities are unfathomable and immeasurable.
What I mean, however, is something else. I think that to alleviate the struggle of clashing egoisms, to alleviate the suffering that is absolutely shared by all of us, can contribute significantly to the awareness that there is another sphere, a higher one, towards which we should direct our spirit.... The perception of this is capable of greatly strengthening our powers, and certainly will not bring harm to either the individual or society.
Human thought is a power that is completely real and direct. It can "sack and raise thrones," as our great bard instructed us long ago. Let us not deny this truth, rather, in feeling it, let us raise our heads higher and look boldly into the future.
If I manage to inspire even one believer out of thousands of skeptics with this conviction, I will consider my task accomplished.
