CHÂTEAU PETRUS 2012 (France)

This 100% merlot fascinates with its exceptional concentration, purity, deep ink-purple color and expansiveness in the mouth. As usual with Petrus, it's its incredible texture that catches the eye; the wine is silky and velvety, refined to the smallest detail, with an engaging flavor that features juicy black cherries and raspberries gaining depth from the presence of fennel, cocoa beans, graphite, crushed rock, jasmine and black tea. Muscular yet fresh, it wonderfully envelops the palate, whetting the appetite for more with each sip. Another great example of that mythical wine that few can afford, that virtually no one drinks, but that everyone is talking about! The 2012 vintage is ready to drink now, but stored in the right conditions it will stay that way for at least another 25 years.
