Distillery description
Tamnavulin is a Scottish distillery in the Speyside region, established in 1966 during the whiskey boom. Built by Invergordon Distillers, it aimed to meet the rising demand for blended whiskey. The distillery faced closure in 1995 due to a market crisis but reopened in 2007 after United Spirits acquired Whyte & Mackay. Today, it primarily produces whiskey for blended brands, particularly Whyte & Mackay, known for its affordable blends. In 2014, Emperador, a Philippine company, purchased Whyte & Mackay, yet Tamnavulin continued to thrive as a key supplier for blended whiskeys. Recently, the distillery has shifted focus to promote its own single malt offerings and has launched several bottlings, with occasional independent releases as well. Bottle description
