Pierre Lavedan (1885-1982) French historian and urban planner. He began his career as a teacher in high schools in Limoges and Reims, and then at the universities in Toulouse and Montpellier and at the Sorbonne. He worked in particular as a lecturer in art history in Catalonia, in Paris (Sorbonne). He lectured at the École des Beaux-Arts, at the Institute of Urban Planning of the University of Brussels, at the University of Tübingen and finally at the Institute of Art and Archaeology in Paris. Pierre Lavedan wrote many articles and about thirty books on the history of urban planning, urban geography and art history.
