B. Obertyńska (1898-1980) - poet and writer, daughter of the famous Young Poland poet, Maryla Wolska. Associated with "Skamander" and the artistic community of Medyka, during the Second World War arrested by the NKVD, released traveled the combat route of the Anders army, after the war she remained in exile in London. Obertynska's concrete, precise and word-precise landscape lyric is at once atmospheric, metaphorical and full of nostalgia. This pre-war volume of poetry is an expression of feeling an extraordinary connection with nature, a special sensitivity to the natural world. In her poetry, trees, flowers, shrubs are capable of empathy, they have a soul, a character of their own, the world of man and the natural world interpenetrate each other: "On the thorns the world has thrust itself to me, like the dales on the sides of the roads, when in it the green thorns of the roadside hawthorns."
