tin
20x25 cm
Hand-painted/airbrushed and lithographed tin carousel with a working spring-loaded mechanism. Made in Germany, likely by GBN Gebruder Bing Nuremberg (other manufacturers may have been DOLL & Co. or Muller & Kaderer) in the second half of the 19th century. When the key is turned, the carousel rotates, playing a music box tune. The circular platform seats eight children in carriages, on horses, and atop circus elephants. It features four lanterns inside the tent and a flag atop the carousel.
It measures approximately 25 cm in diameter and is approximately 40 cm high, with an 8 cm flag.
Original and very rare, in perfect working order
