Václav Markovský Born in Prague, `Mala Strana`. He first trained in drawing and painting under Ludvík Kohl. From 1803 he was a pupil of the first director of the Academy of Fine Arts, Josef Bergler (1753-1829). At the beginning of 1824 he took part in the Academy exhibition in the Klementinum building with renowned painters. He exhibited a historical composition, an oil painting of Charles IV bidding farewell to the cardinals and nobles in the Bohemian camp after the imperial coronation in Rome in 1355.
