oil on canvas , 49,5x39cm,sign.p.d.
Painter, poet, journalist associated with the Coast. In 1948-1950 he studied painting at the State Higher School of Fine Arts under professors J. Wodyński, J. Żuławski, S. Teisseyre.
He interrupted his studies after the 3rd year without receiving a diploma. He received the right to practice in 1951 based on the decision of the Minister of Culture and Art. He practiced oil painting on a variety of subjects. His oeuvre includes portraits, nudes, landscapes and still lifes.
Tomaszewski's work is very personal, by definition not modern. The artist remains faithful to the traditional rules of drawing and composition, operating with a subdued color palette with a predominance of gray-blue and pink colors. He harmoniously juxtaposes wide planes of uniform color, sometimes to emphasize the detail he surrounds the spots with a clear contour.
