Marian Lorek, " In the Eagle's Nebula" 120x39cm own technique, frame.
He has been involved in oil painting since he was twenty years old, before that in drawing. He has had individual exhibitions in many cities, including Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice, Chrzanów, Klodzko, Kluczbork, Oleśnica, Długołęka, Sobótka (Museum) and at a group exhibition in Wiesbaden (Germany). In Wroclaw, exhibitions were held in such places as - Journalist Club, Literature and Art Club, Wroclaw Formats Club, Agora Gallery, Entropia and many others, as well as houses of culture. One of the works in the earlier artistic activity, was qualified for the finals of the All-Polish Non-Professional Art with an exhibition at the BWA Gallery in Wroclaw. Another work, in turn, made it to the top 100 of the best paintings in the country, in a competition organized by the monthly ART Business. Several times the artist's paintings have been featured in the national weekly Agora. The paintings presented by the artist are largely surrealist with a touch of hyperrealism and pop art. The paintings are characterized by a great depth of background and clarity of colors, especially in that part of the paintings which were painted on velvet during creative explorations, hence, among other things, the term - Velvet Surrealism, which has already found a permanent place on websites and in the subject of surrealism itself. For some time now, the artist has also been painting in acrylic or combining acrylic and oil in his paintings, as well as using other techniques that surprise him with their final results. These are explorations that every painter has in nature. Two of the artist's paintings are in the largest private painting collection in Poland and Europe of Mr. and Mrs. Grazyna and Jacek Lozowski. The works can also be seen at the permanent exhibition in the restaurant "Plastyczna" in Wroclaw (between the bridges of Pokoju and Grunwaldzki).
