Paweł WRÓBEL ( 1913–1984)
A miner and one of the most active members of the amateur artists’ circle at the Cultural Center (ZDK) of the “Wieczorek” mine. In his paintings, he depicted Silesian landscapes with their characteristic chimneys, slag heaps, and mine shafts. His lively and exceptionally colorful genre scenes depict both everyday life and festive occasions in mining communities. In addition to painting, the artist also practiced sculpture, though he left behind very few works in wood and coal.
