Fenian Raid Medal Named: Pte. W. H. Anthony, Peterboro I. Co.
Private William Henry Anthony was a volunteer with the Peterborough county militia. He part of the 54th battalion. He received the 1866, 1870 & Red River clasps. As mentioned on page 231 in Canada General Service Medal Roll 1866-80 by John R. Thyen. William joined Ontario Rilfles in there expedition to the Red River settlement in present day Manitoba. The expedition was sent by the Canadian government to established control of the Red River resistance.
