He was met by Catherine II in Mogilev, they visited St. Petersburg and Moscow and concluded an Austro-Russian defensive alliance. As per Iversen, the original medal was struck in the presence of Emperor Joseph II when he visited the St. Petersburg Mint on July 1. 1780. Bronze 73.74 g. Diameter 60mm.
