Gustavo Giovinetti, "Basket of Cherries" (Signed)

An original painting on wood depicting a still life with a basket of cherries. The work features a central composition with a woven wicker basket brimming with ripe cherries, partially covered by a fringed white cloth, set on a textured green surface. The technical execution reveals particular attention to the rendering of the materials, especially the weave of the basket and the luster of the fruit. In the upper right corner, there is an inscription painted in purplish red bearing the initials “GG” followed by a period and the year 1944. The work is set within a multi-level architectural frame consisting of a gilded inner profile, a wide cream-colored groove with an orange-peel finish, and a molded white outer border. Based on the folding ruler visible in the images, the external dimensions of the frame are approximately 41.5 cm x 41.5 cm.
