A French officer's cord from the first half of the 19th century, probably from the Napoleon I period. The blade bearing the marking "Au dieu Mars Dupont Artisan Palais Royal Galerie de Baro N. 332" on the risus.The cord has a brass handle with a lion's head on the pommel and a richly decorated bowl guard with motifs of military symbolism.
