Born in 1996, Maciej Spałek is a self-taught artist who works in the fields of oil painting, acrylic painting, and perspective drawing.

The intensive development of his distinctive visual language has taken place in recent years, during which he has supported his artistic practice by honing his skills through workshops and drawing lessons.

Maciej Spałek’s work is distinguished by a unique formal discipline—he creates a distinctive, recognizable style based on geometrization, striped patterns, lines, and forms constructed from circles. On a formal level, the artist often employs a limited color palette, creating mature monochromes or compositions typically based on two dominant colors.

Drawing on the aesthetics of ancient art, he transposes ancient patterns into the language of contemporary surrealism. On a conceptual level, his paintings provide a space for exploring spiritual and existential issues, as well as motifs from the realm of fantasy. Slavic traditions and symbolism, along with the mysticism of the natural world and the forest, serve as significant sources of inspiration for him.

He has held his first solo exhibition, titled “Open Mind” (June–August 2026, MicroKLIMAT in Częstochowa), where he presented a selection of 11 original works.
