Maciej Szczurek-Maksymiuk - painter and graphic artist. Graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in Prof. Leszek Misiak's studio (2007). Dynamics and expression in his paintings contrast with calmness and tranquility, and emptiness is as important an element of the painting as filling. Frequent motifs appearing in his work are flowers, plants, buildings that carry the idea of transience and the Baroque "impermanence of the things of this world." He lives and works in Cracow.
