Sylwia Gumkowska—an intuitive painter whose work balances between the world of inner emotions and the geometric order of forms. In her paintings, she combines rich colors, symbolism, and figurative simplifications, creating compositions that are both tense and harmonious.
She draws inspiration from surrealism and the human psyche. Her portraits—most often of women—are expressions of introspection and emotional sincerity, often set in surreal spaces or enriched with symbolic elements: spheres, pawns, and labyrinths.
The artist experiments with texture, form, and contrast—she paints primarily with oil paints on large canvases. She creates not out of a need for aesthetics, but out of a need to convey a message—each painting is a personal story, suspended between silence and impulse.
Her style stands out for its distinctiveness and originality, and her works are included in private collections in Poland and abroad (Spain, Italy).
