Mag Wilk - biographical note
Mag Wilk is a graduate ofthe Faculty of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. After graduating, she workedas an interior and furniture designer in Krakow for several yearsbefore moving to Canada, where she rediscovered her passion for painting. Designing furniture -mainly kitchens - did not giveher fullcreativesatisfaction, so she decided todevote herself entirely to art.
In Canada, she participated in numerous group exhibitions andcollaborated with the local Jordan Art Gallery in Ontario, where she presented her solo exhibition entitled Glimpses from the Neighborhood in April 2011. Most of the works from this period have found buyersandarenowin private collections.
Mag Wilk has participated three times in the Toronto Outdoor Art Festival (TOAF) , aprestigious event promotingcontemporaryartists, heldin the heart of downtown Toronto. Participation in this festival, possible only after passing a demanding selection process, isa significanthonorforartists.
After spending several years in Canada, she decided toreturn to Poland - on the one handfor family reasons, and on the other, forlonging for Krakow. It is this city and its surroundings that have becomethe main source of inspiration in her currentwork.
Mag Wilk paints in cycles, making sure that her works arecoherent, synthetic and carrya personal message. In 2020, she presented a solo exhibition titled Momentarily Last Forever at theKrakowLibrary. Shemainly createsacrylic paintings oncanvas, in medium and large formats. Although at first glance they may seem traditional,they are distinguished by their modern form and distinctive style,whichhas become the artist's trademark.
Mag Wilk consistently develops her passion, attracting the attention ofartloversboth in Poland andabroad.
