oil on canvas, 90 cm x 70 cm
Ewa Sepioło-Krełowska is interested in the moment of suspension between a glance and a decision. It is a moment of silence in which a thought takes shape and begins to hold meaning. Her paintings contain neither a manifesto nor literalism—instead, they convey focus, a melancholy devoid of pessimism, and a subtle tension present in the space of light. The artist believes that observation is the first act of responsibility, and that thoughts possess the power to bring about change. Her paintings create a space for reflection on the process of maturing toward a choice and on a person’s inner balance in relation to the world.
